The 5:2 diet revolutionised the way many of us eat, and now the same principle is being applied to skincare.
Many of us have seen the difference just two days of reduced calories can make on our waistlines, and now the 5:2 (or fast) diet has become the latest beauty trend.
But instead of watching what you put inside you, the 5:2 skin diet is all about what you put on the outside.
The diet is based on the belief that having just two makeup free days a week (as with the traditional 5:2 diet, they can be consecutive or non-consecutive) will drastically improve your skin.
In fact, some specialists are claiming that following this regime will result in younger, healthier skin in just a month.
Dr Noor Almaani, Dermatologist at The Private Clinic of Harley Street, told MailOnline: ‘Taking regular breaks from wearing make-up could be a wise decision, as it will enable your skin to recover and it could reduce the level of irritation caused by wearing make-up over long periods of time.’
