Compliance with CMA Order 2014
In October 2014, the Competition and Markets Authority (the “CMA”) published the Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014 (the “Order”) following its investigation into the private healthcare industry. The Order imposed requirements on private hospital operators to disclose certain information in relation to referring clinicians (as defined by the Order) for the benefit of patients. Higher Value Services
Consulting Rooms rental where an agreement exists with a consultant are charged at £25 per hour.
No Medical Secretary services are provided by The Private Clinic of Harley Street to Doctors
Low Value Services
The following “low-value” services are also provided to referring clinicians with practising privileges at this hospital:
- General services to ensure clinical safety (eg in-house training, infection prevention and control services, chaperones)
- Operational services such as patient bookings/admissions of private patients
- Marketing and Promotional activity is undertaken through marketing activity such as the website, evening events and general promotional activity associated with The Private Clinic of Harley Streets own marketing activity.
- Basic workplace amenities such as teas/coffees/refreshments.
Corporate Events
The Private Clinic of Harley Streets Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) meet quarterly to maintain clinical practice, patients safety and to approve practising privileges for doctors.
This year The Private Clinic of Harley Street will be running a Doctor Study Day at the cost of £2000.
