A facelift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that lifts up and pulls back the skin on the face to result in a tighter and smoother appearance. It is very effective on patients who have sagging around the lower half of the face, jowls and neck.

Facelifts however are a big deal; patients who are looking to have a facelift will need to schedule a substantial amount of recovery time post procedure which is why many patients are now seeking non-surgical alternatives with less downtime in order to rejuvenate their appearance. A recent example is Judy Murray, mum of UK tennis icon Andy Murray, who has undergone a non-surgical facelift to lift her turkey neck while targeting her skin pigmentation issues.

Of course, a chemical peel or laser treatment is never going to be able to replicate what a facelift can do but they are very effective at eliminating some of the signs of ageing and produce some impressive results.

One Stitch Facelift

Our ‘One Stitch Facelift’ is still a surgical procedure but we felt it was worth adding to this list. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and has very minimal recovery time in comparison to a standard surgical facelift. The one stitch facelift targets the mid-face helping to improve the jaw line. There is a very low risk of swelling and bruising and the incision is hidden within the hairline

The Temporal facelift is very similar in style to the one stitch facelift but this procedure concentrates on the eyebrows to the midface area so ideal if you are looking for an upper facial lift. The temporal facelift is performed under local anaesthetic and the short 5-6cm scar is hidden within the temporal hair line and patients have minimal downtime post procedure.

Ultherapy

Ultherapy is a non-surgical facelift, skin tightening procedure that uses micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V) energy. Celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Christie Brinkley and Kim Kardashian have all used Ultherapy for a neck lift making it a popular choice with many of our patients. Ultherapy treatment is ideal for reducing the appearance of sagging skin, sagging jowls, poor skin laxity, turkey neck, sagging eyelids and lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.

Treatment time can take as little as 30 minutes and there is no downtime aside from some slight redness to the treated areas for an hour or 2 post procedure. The results from treatment are gradual but many patients see the initial signs of lifting in the days following treatment.
