This not only volumises the back of the hand and makes the tendons and bones less obvious, but also disguises the visible veins. We usually use the Fat Transfer in combination with IPL to remove sun-spots.
The Problem
As we age we concentrate on rejuvenating and caring for our face. What most people forget are their hands. The texture of the skin of the hands can give ones age away and possibly make you appear older than you are, especially since hands are a sun-exposed part of our body.
The Treatment
A small amount of fat is harvested under local anaesthetic from a discrete part of your body (typical areas used include: inner thighs, abdomen and flanks). The fat is then filtered and injected into the back of the hands via a tiny cannula under local anaesthetic. The cannula is specialised to avoid any damage to the arteries and to avoid as much tissue disruption as possible. There is no scarring and it is a walk-in walk-out procedure with no downtime.
Fat Transfer Hands Advantages:
Once the fat has integrated into the tissue of the back of the hands, it remains there permanently (as long a weight is maintained). This is in contrast to filler treatments that need be repeated every 6-9 months.
The Results
Each patient’s body reacts differently but results typically last for a number of years, eventually requiring a top-up to maintain the original effect.
Downtime
There is no downtime associated with this procedure. It is a non-invasive, walk-in walk-out procedure performed under local anaesthetic with no scarring. Depending on how much fat is harvested during liposuction and the area, your doctor may advise you to undergo a course of MLD Massage to aid your healing. This will be explained during consultations and post-treatment.

As it is using your own fat cells, which remain completely viable after the extraction, the risk of rejection is removed and the risk of associated infections that are often associated with implants and invasive techniques is reduced.
Every action is taken to minimise bruising and swelling but some may occur due to the effect of injecting into the skin, with some very small blood vessels affected.
