Micro Liposuction
Micro lipo is a great procedure for small areas of unwanted fat. The procedure is performed in clinic with local anaesthetic. It uses smaller cannulas and has a reduced risk of bleeding, bruising and discomfort post-procedure. Liposuction for Women
Liposuction is a great way to target stubborn areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. There is no defined area that all women seek liposuction for, this is because all women will carry their weight differently. That said, there are a range of common problem areas that are popular amongst our female patients including the hips, thighs lower abdomen and buttocks.[2]
Popular areas for women include:
- Thighs – One of our most requested areas to treat are the thighs. Like the stomach, we can treat the inner and outer thighs separately to achieve a more sculpted and defined result.
- Flanks – Flanks, also known as the hips/waist/muffin top is a common area of stubborn fat that liposuction can effectively treat.
- Abdomen – The abdomen/stomach/tummy is a common area of stubborn fat. Fat can accumulate in the upper and/or lower portion of the stomach which can both be treated separately with liposuction.
- Chin – Our micro lipo technique is ideal for treating small areas such as the chin to help achieve a more defined jawline.
- Back – The back, or more specifically the auxiliary puffs is an area of fat that forms on the upper portion of the back and is often noticed when a bra or bikini top is worn. This excess area of fat is easily treated with liposuction.
- Buttocks – Whilst we do not remove fat from the buttocks, we can remove fat from what is known as the banana roll which is the lower portion of the buttocks. Removing fat here can give the appearance of tighter and more toned buttocks.
- Arms – Loose fat in the upper arms, also known as bingo wings, is a common complaint. Liposuction can help to remove fat in the area often resulting in a more youthful appearance to the arms.
Liposuction for Men
Liposuction is also a very popular treatment amongst men. Men are more likely to accumulate excess fat in the upper body, in particular the chest and stomach.
Popular areas for men include:
- Chest – Gynaecomastia causes excess fat and glandular tissue on the chest. A male chest reduction procedure is commonly combined with liposuction to remove the appearance of ‘man boobs’ that men are keen to avoid.
- Abdomen – The abdomen is a common area for men to seek fat removal from, as long as the fat is beneath the skin and not within the abdominal cavity then it will be suitable for liposuction.
- Flanks – Liposuction is a great option for stubborn areas of fat that is often found spilling out of the waistband of shorts or trousers.
- Chin – The chin is a common treatment area for men, a precise liposuction technique such as micro lipo is a great option for treating this delicate area.
