Blepharoplasty – Lisa

Lisa was feeling concerned about the overall appearance of her eyes and was unhappy with the droop and general slackness. She found it difficult to apply mascara and eyeshadow and after wearing masks during lockdown where the eyes were the focus of her face, she was feeling self-conscious about their appearance.
Lisa looked into what she could do to improve the appearance of her eyes and decided she wanted to undergo a blepharoplasty procedure.
She booked a consultation to visit The Private Clinic of Harley Street where she met Mr Davood Fallahdar who was able to fully explain the procedure.
“I was given the opportunity to ask any questions and I felt relaxed and reassured throughout the consultation. I was asked what I wanted from the surgery and following the consultation, I felt assured I had realistic expectations. It was also explained how I would feel and look following the procedure and advice was given on how long I would be required to recover, prior to returning to work.
Mr Fallahdar made me feel totally at ease, there was no pressure and I left feeling confident and looking forward to my surgery.”
Ahead of her blepharoplasty procedure, Lisa was feeling excited to see the results.
On the day of her procedure, Mr Fallahdar discussed the procedure again, covering the risks and benefits. Her before photographs were taken before markings were made to identify the surgery site. She changed into a gown and had her pre-operative checks before being taken to the theatre.
“I was tucked up in a warm blanket. A number of safety checks were completed, the full explanation was given to me of what was happening, and I was offered reassurance throughout the procedure.”
The procedure was performed under local anaesthetic which meant although Lisa was awake throughout, she did not feel any pain or discomfort. 30 minutes later and the procedure was over, and Lisa returned to her room to recover before being discharged by the surgeon in the hours following.
The downtime following a blepharoplasty procedure is minimal, Lisa followed her post-operative advice to sleep sitting up and to avoid getting the eye area wet. The following day she was comfortable enough to go out shopping. No pain relief was required and after 3 days any swelling and bruising were starting to fade.
6 days later, Lisa had her stitches out and she was able to return to work the same day as the majority of her bruising and swelling had gone.
