FUE Hair Transplant – Alex
Home » Patient Stories »
Alex’s hairline has been receding for over 4 years now and gradually becoming harder to cover up and hide. He was relying on hair products and purposely angled photographs to conceal his hair loss.
“It affects my confidence when I’m walking down the street and it’s windy and I think, have I got enough hairspray in”
Working at The Private Clinic, Alex is well knowledgeable in hair transplant surgeons, the techniques, and the process and after seeing all of the amazing results from the surgeons in Manchester, he knew it was time to go ahead with his own hair restoration procedure.
Alex had a consultation to discuss his options and made plans to have his procedure focusing on his hairline and temples with around 2000 grafts. Find out more about what happens in a Hair Transplant Consultation here.
Alex decided to document his hair transplant procedure so he could share the process with future patients who may be considering the procedure.
1 day after the Hair Transplant procedure
1-day post-procedure Alex is feeling no pain and regularly spraying the area with the saline spray as directed. Find out more about Hair Transplant aftercare here.
Day 2 after Hair Transplant
Alex was able to return to work virtually 2 days after his hair transplant procedure. Today he has a swollen forehead but remains pain-free. The treated area has started scabbing, which is to be expected, regular spraying with the saline spray is still recommended at this stage.
Day 3 after Hair Transplant
Alex was still feeling pain-free, the swelling was still visible but starting to settle, and his scalp was starting to feel a little itchy, but the spray solution was helping to relieve that. Alex returned to work on Day 3, due to working in the aesthetics industry, his colleagues seeing him in the recovery stage still was no big surprise as they see hair transplant recovery patients regularly. If he was to be working in a more formal environment or wanted to conceal his hair transplant procedure, then allowing at least a week would be advised.
Day 4 after Hair Transplant
After 4/5 days, Alex was able to wash his hair with baby shampoo.
1 week after Hair Transplant
1 week after his hair transplant, Alex has some scabbing in the area which was gradually coming off but he was able to cover the area with his existing hair.
2 weeks after Hair Transplant
After 2 weeks, all of the swelling, scabbing and redness had gone. Shedding had started which is a very natural response for hair transplant recovery. The donor area, which was shaved is also growing back well with no visible scarring.
3 weeks after Hair Transplant
Shedding continues through week 3.
4 weeks after Hair Transplant
Alex had his first haircut 4 weeks following his hair transplant procedure. He was really impressed with how his donor area looked when shaved with no visible signs of scarring.
7 weeks after Hair Transplant
Alex’s new hair was growing well 7 weeks following his hair transplant procedure.
7 months after hair transplant
Alex updates us 7 months following his hair transplant procedure. The new shape of the hairline is nearly complete although it will take a little longer for the full thickness and density of the hair to grow.
Alex is amazed at how far he has come already and can’t wait to see how his results continue to improve over the next few months.
