Milton Keynes residents following Wayne Rooney as demand rockets to record high for procedure

Figures released by a cosmetic surgery practice reveal that demand for hair transplant procedures in Milton Keynes reached an all time high last year, with more patients booking in for consultations than ever before.

The number of patients booking in for hair transplant consultations at The Private Clinic in Milton Keynes increased by 39 per cent in 2014, compared with 2013, signalling a huge uplift in consumer demand for this procedure.

Interestingly, the most popular month for patients to consider undergoing a transplant was November.

The Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant procedure is delivered under local anaesthetic and involves individual hairs being removed from one area of the head, and implanted into the area where the hair is thinning or receding.

With celebrities including Wayne Rooney, Louis Walsh and James Nesbitt all openly undergoing hair transplants in recent years, it comes as no surprise that demand for the procedure has continued to rise across the UK.

Dr Hair Transplant Surgeon at The Private Clinic, said: “In the past year we have seen a significant, steady increase in the number of patients booking in for consultations for FUE hair transplant procedures.

“Over time, I think awareness of the procedure has certainly grown. It is also fair to say that there is no longer such stigma attached to the idea of a man undergoing a transplant procedure; today this is something which men of all ages, who are suffering with hair loss, would probably look to consider.”
