What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment for the brows, face, neck, and décolletage. Using micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V) energy the treatment can target depths of the skin that no other non-invasive cosmetic devices can reach.
What makes Ultherapy unique is the visualisation element that enables the practitioner to see beneath the skin, ensuring that the treatment is performed most effectively.
Ultherapy is ideal at treating
- Sagging skin
- Drooping eyelids
- Low or Sagging Brows
- Jowls
- Décolletage wrinkles
How does Ultherapy work?
As we age, we lose collagen and elastin from the skin which is often the main cause of skin sagging and drooping.
Ultherapy works by using the micro-focused ultrasound to target deep layers in the skin which helps to encourage collagen and elastin production whilst also strengthening existing collagen which is what gives you instant tightening.

Ultherapy FAQs
Ultherapy uses ultrasound not lasers to treat the skin. Ultrasound can treat below the depths of your skin without damaging the surface. The layers that Ultherapy is able to target is the same layers that a Plastic Surgeon would be operating at if they were performing a facelift for example. Laser treatments tend to target the surface of the skin first which often results in downtime. Ultherapy does not have any downtime.
Ultherapy treatment takes around 60-90 minutes to perform depending on the areas being treated. Your practitioner will use visualisation to see the depths of the skin that they want to target, each Ultherapy treatment is unique to the individual. An Ultherapy applicator is then passed over the face targeting the key areas determined by your practitioner. You may experience temporary redness to the skin for a few hours following treatment, but the majority of patients are able to return to their everyday activities as normal.
Ultherapy is often combined with other treatments we provide in clinic including dermal filler to help you achieve the best results. We do recommend that you have your Ultherapy treatment first and then have dermal filler after. If you have already had dermal fillers recently then we would recommend waiting at least 1 month if you are planning to have Ultherapy treatment in the same area.
There are no clinical studies currently that show that Ultherapy would dissolve fillers. Ultherapy also has real-time visualisation so your practitioner would be able to avoid impacting the fillers in the treatment process.
